Surprise Wedding Proposal in Paradise – Puerto Rico

Scott called me up and said he was planning to propose to his girlfriend on their upcoming trip to Puerto Rico and needed some help planning and capturing the moment. He wanted somewhere that was naturally beautiful and intimate. I knew just the place to suggest and asked if they were up for an adventure!

We drove on windy roads way up into the mountains and found a perfect little slice of heaven at Cascada Las Delicias in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. She had no idea he was about to propose!

Afterwards we drove over to climb up a mountain and watch the sunset at Cerro Mime.

Old San Juan Wedding Engagement Photo Shoot

We met up in Old San Juan for a little pre wedding shoot with this lovely couple. They will get married at Hotel El Convento in June and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding in Old San Juan. I always take the time to meet each couple ahead of time so we can get a good sense of each others character. Then on the wedding day, we are like old friends hanging out and it takes some of the awkwardness away.

Here are some photos from a recent maternity portrait session we did near Dorado, Puerto Rico. Although it was a bit overcast and threatening rain the whole time, we used that to our advantage and really focused on getting natural and vibrant colors. A good photographer will always find a way to make it happen. Here’s some of my favorites from the shoot. The red dress she is wearing is perfect for the location and really gives the images that extra ‘pop’! Congratulations to this growing family!

Nassau Bahamas Wedding Proposal Photo Session.

It was a lot of fun preparing and photographing this destination wedding proposal for a fellow professional photographer in Nassau, The Bahamas. The couple arrived on a cruise and rented a vehicle to explore the island. I went to Jaws Beach ahead of time and planted a “Message in a Bottle” a the end of the pier for her to discover, all the while posing as a sunbather to capture the moment. We went around Clifton Heritage Park afterward to capture a few more shots. Congratulations!
